Moving from Fergus

Fergus keeps its exports in a few places: customer lists, Reports and Settings.

Steps checked Saturday 17 October 2026. Menus change, so if something has moved, tell us.

Export from Fergus

  1. Customers. Open Customers and export the list.
  2. Invoices. Open Reports (top right), then Customer Invoice Report, and download the CSV.
  3. Jobs. In Reports, open the job lists and download the CSV.
  4. Price book. Export your price book from Settings.
  5. Favourites and kits. These don't export. Copy them into Vellier's price list or task packs by hand.

Bring it into Vellier

  1. In Vellier, open Settings › Moving to Vellier and choose Fergus.
  2. Drop in the files. Vellier recognises each one and shows a dry run.
  3. Check the fix list, then import. Nothing is sent to clients while quiet mode is on.

What becomes live

  • Open jobs become live projects
  • Unpaid invoices become balances to collect

Set up again by hand

  • Favourites and kits
  • Your old statuses and pipelines (Vellier has its own)
  • Quote and invoice templates, numbering and reminder rules (set them in Vellier)
  • User permissions (give people their roles again in Team)
  • Automations from the old system (turn them off there)
