About Vellier

What is Vellier?

Vellier is a business system for UK trades, cleaners, interior designers and developers. Quotes and proposals, jobs and planning, your team, money and a client portal, all in one place, with a phone app for the people on site.

Who makes it?

Vellier was built inside 1805 Design & Décor, a UK decorating and interiors company, which runs its business on it every day. Read our story.

Which trades is it for?

Painters and decorators, plasterers, carpenters and joiners, electricians, plumbers and heating engineers, builders, kitchen and bathroom fitters, roofers, landscapers, flooring fitters, tilers, multi-trade and maintenance firms, interior designers and property developers. See every trade.

Is it only for the UK?

Yes. It's built around UK ways of working: VAT, CIS, the Construction Act, UK certificates and UK dates and money.

Launch and prices

When can I start using it?

Free trials and paid plans start on 1 January 2027. Until then you can try a demo, register interest or apply to be a tester.

How much does it cost?

We'll publish our prices on the pricing page before launch. You'll be able to pay monthly with no long contract, and every plan will start with a free trial and help moving your data across. Register interest and we'll tell you when the prices are up.

Do I need a card to start a trial?

No card is needed today, and the sign-up page always says which applies. If card details are ever asked for, you're not charged until day 15 and you can cancel any time before then. If you don't choose a plan by the end of the trial, your account is paused. We'll always email you well before anything is deleted, with a link to download your data.

Can I cancel?

Yes, at any time, from Settings › Subscription. It takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for. Questions about your subscription or our invoices: [email protected].

Switching

Can I bring my data from my current system?

Yes. Vellier imports clients, sites, open jobs, unpaid invoices, price lists and suppliers from CSV files, with guides for Tradify, Fergus, ServiceM8, Powered Now, Jobber, YourTradebase, Commusoft, simPRO, Houzz Pro, spreadsheets and paper. See the import guides.

Will my clients get emails while I'm setting up?

No. Turn on quiet mode and Vellier holds every automatic client message until your go-live date. Read about quiet mode.

How long does switching take?

Most businesses can move what's live in a weekend. Here's the plan.

Your data

Who owns my data?

You do. You can export it at any time. Each business has its own separate database, so one company can never see another's records.

Where is it kept?

The Vellier app is hosted by DigitalOcean in London, and its databases are run by Neon in London (AWS eu-west-2). See security for more.

Do my clients see my costs and margins?

Never. Clients see only what you choose to send them: proposals, invoices, the project diary and anything you share in their portal.

What is the market data, and do I have to share mine?

Vellier's cost guides and fair price checks are built from anonymised, combined statistics ("Market Data") made only from completed or past jobs, never from live quotes. Before any job is used, all personal data is removed, including your clients' names and addresses. Contributing is a condition of using Vellier and can't be switched off (clause 3.5 of our terms). Market Data never identifies you, your staff or your clients, and a figure is only published when it's built from enough jobs and enough businesses that no single business or job can be identified: today that means at least 10 completed jobs from at least 5 firms. Quotes your clients upload to compare belong to them, and are never shown to you or other businesses or used in Market Data (clause 3.6).

The demos

What is a demo company?

A sample business for your trade, filled with made-up clients, jobs, quotes and invoices, with a guided tour. You open it straight from the website with no sign-up.

Will anything I do in the demo be kept?

No. Every demo resets at 3am each night, and other visitors may use the same demo at the same time, so please don't type in real people's details. Emails, texts, payments and uploads are switched off.

Does the demo use cookies?

Opening a demo sets one sign-in cookie on vellier.app, the Vellier app, so it knows you're in the demo. This website itself sets no cookies. Read our cookie policy.

Testing

What does a tester do?

Uses Vellier for real work before launch and tells us honestly what works and what doesn't. Read more and apply.

Is there anything to pay during testing?

No. Paid plans start on 1 January 2027.
